SOFIA Data Center Astronomical Archive Home

The SOFIA Data Center provides an archive to all observation data taken with the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy.

Note: This is an experimental page that will eventually become the main web entry to the SDC Astronomical Archive. Currently this page is under construction and will change in content and structure without notice until eventually declared open for public use.

The archive of the SOFIA Data Center (SDC) will host astronomical images, spectra and polarimetric maps taken with instruments on-board the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) in a searchable form, supporting services that adhere to the standards of the International Virtual Observatory Alliance (IVOA).

This portal page will provide a web-interface to the SDC-Archive, which will also be accessible via an API to its VO services.

The initially released SOFIA observational data and the results of the year of post-processing performed in 2023 after the end of the active flight phase, are available in the NASA/IPAC Infrared Science Archive (IRSA).

The SDC is actively working on improvements to the calibration and the reduction procedures of SOFIA science data with the aim that newly reprocessed data with the newest pipelines will first appear in the SDC-Archive on this site.
